Kobe & Pau Help Lakers Burn Atlanta 122-93

Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol each scored 23 points, in Gasol’s first game as a Lakers player at the Staples Center Tuesday, and Los Angeles made for a bad place for Mike Bibby to start out as the new point guard for the Atlanta Hawks, as L.A. just beat up on the Hawks, 122-93. Bibby in his first game playing for Atlanta since being traded from the Sacramento Kings, had a rough night scoring just 5 points, with 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers in just 16 minutes of playing time. Welcome to the Hawks, Mike.
This game stopped being competitive after the first 5:30 of the first quarter, as the Lakers?went on a?19-2 run to end the first quarter leading 32-14. It did not get any better, in the second quarter, as Los Angeles was ahead 73-37 at the half. Atlanta would get no closer than 24 points in the third quarter, as the Lakers led 97-69 heading into the final 12 minutes of extended garbage time.
Bryant scored 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists, in the victory. Gasol also scored 23, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, Lamar Odom recorded a double-double, as he scored 17 points, a game high 15 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal. Vladimir Radmanovic scored 14 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block, Jordan Farmar scored 12 points off the bench, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, Derek Fisher scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist.
Only one Atlanta starter scored in double figures, Joe Johnson who scored 18 points, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 rebound. Acie Law scored 16 points off the bench, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 rebound, Josh Childress also scored 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks. Zaza Pachulia recorded a double-double coming off the pine scoring 12 points, 12 boards, 1 assist, in the loss. Los Angeles is now 36-17 while the Hawks are now 21-29.
