Bucks To Honor Bob Lanier Wednesday Night
Filed Under Main | Leave a Comment
The Milwaukee Bucks Wednesday night will honor one of their past greats Hall Of Fame Center Bob Lanier. Appropriately enough they will be playing the other team that Lanier split his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons traded Lanier to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1980, for Kurt Benson and a draft pick. unfortunately for Lanier and his teammates they were playing in the Eastern Conference with Dr. J’s Sixers and Larry Bird’s Celtics. Milwaukee never made it to a NBA Finals in that era, but they were a perennial winner in the NBA during a huge decade for the sport.

The “Boston Globe” Wednesday reported that Boston Celtics head of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge, says that the club will make no roster moves between now and the Thursday NBA trade deadline. Ainge told the paper that he loves the makeup of his team, and he sees no reason to tinker with success. Ainge completely gutted, and retrofitted the Boston Celtics, during the off-season bringing in Superstars Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen, as well as key bench depth in Eddie House and James Posey. Plus the second round draft choice of Glen “Big Baby” Davis seems to have worked out as well. Boston travels to Golden State Wednesday night to take on the Warriors with the best record in the NBA 41-10.
