Baron Shoots Down Celtics Golden State Wins 118-117

Baron Davis hit a 20 foot jump shot at the buzzer, and the Boston Celtics are now 0-2 since the return of the “Big Ticket” Kevin Garnett as they lost to the Golden State Warriors 118-117 Wednesday night. The win was vengeance for their loss back in November to the Celtics in Boston 104-82. The Warriors made a run in the closing moments of the third quarter, and the opening minutes of the third quarter to bounce back from an eight point half time deficit.
Golden State shot out to a three point lead at the end of the first quarter as they led 32-29, but the Green Team dominated in the second?quarter, ?as they went on an 8-3 run at the end of the period to go into the half up 57-49. Boston had the lead as high as 13 points when Garnett hit a 20 foot “J” with 10:26 left in the period, as the Celts were up 64-51. But the Warriors kept chipping away, and Boston was up just 84-81 as the two teams went into the final quarter. Ray Allen hit a 23 foot?trey with 6:15 remaining to put the Celtics ahead 103-96, but the Warriors went on an 8-1 tear, concluding with Davis hitting a bucket and the penalty shot at the line to tie the game at 104-104with 4:24 left in the game. Boston trailed? for most of the next few minutes, but took the lead with just six seconds left as Paul Pierce hit 2 at the line to put Boston ahead 117-116, until Davis hit his dramatic game winning shot.
Davis scored a team high 29 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, in the victory. Monta Ellis scored 26 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, Al Harrington recorded a double-double as he scored 22 points, 12 rebounds,?4 assists. Andris Biedrins also registered a double-double with 21 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, Mickael?Pietrus scored 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist.
Ray Allen led all scorers with 32 points as he hit 6 treys in the game, he also had 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Pierce scored 23 points, 5 assists, 5?rebounds, 1 steal, Tony Allen came off the bench and scored 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals. Garnett recorded a double-double as he had 17 points, a game high 15 boards, 3 blocks, 3 steals, 2 assists. The Warriors improve to 33-21, the Celtics are now 0-2 on their road-trip, 41-11 for the season.
