The Associated Press reported Thursday afternoon that the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves complted a trade before the NBA trade dead line went into effect Thursday. The Rockets receive guard Gerald Green from the T-Wolves in exchange for guard Kirk Snyder and a future second round draft pick. Green is in his third campaign in the Association?his first two seasons were spent in Boston. He was sent to Minnesota in the Kevin Garnett deal, he averages 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds per game in his pro career. Snyder is in his fourth season in the NBA his second with Houston, he had previously played for Utah and New Orleans. He averages 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist per game.

The Associated Press reported Thursday that the Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors were able to complete a trade before the NBA trading dead line was reached at 3:00 p.m. EST Thursday. The Raptors have sent guard Juan Dixon to Detroit and received center Primo Brezec in return. Dixon is in his sixth season in the Association, his second season with Toronto after spending stints?with Washington and Portland.??He has averaged 9.0 points, 1.7 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game in his career. Brezec who is a native of Serbia is in in seventh NBA campaign his first in the Motor City. He had previously played Indiana, and Charlotte, and averages 7.7 points 4.2 rebounds per game.?

Nene Reportedly To Get Chemo Treatment

Cavaliers Pick Up Wallace & Szczerbiak For Stretch Run

ESPN.com is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers have picked up Chicago Bulls big man Ben Wallace and sharp shooter Wally Szczerbiak from Seattle?for the stretch run. The deal is awaiting NBA approval before it can be officially announced. According to the report, Cleveland will acquire Wallace, Szczerbiak, Sonics point guard Delonte West Chicago’s Joe Smith and a future second round pick from the Bulls. Chicago will get Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes, and reserves Cedric Simmons, and Shannon Brown. Seattle according to the reports will receive Ira Newble, and Donyell Marshall from Cleveland as well as Adrian Griffin from the Bulls.

The first game of the the twin-bill will feature two teams that are on the opposite end of the spectrum from each other the Houston Rockets match up against the Miami Heat. The Rockets are gearing up for the playoff run, while the Heat are gearing up for next year. Game two of the double-header will feature two teams from the great Northwest the Portland Trail Blazers against the Seattle SuperSonics. The game that is not being televised nationally features the reigning NBA Champions the San Antonio Spurs taking on another team in rebuilding mode the Minnesota Timberwolves. There is no word whether Spurs point guard Tony Parker will play as he has missed the last 9 games with a badly inflamed left ankle.

The “Akron Beacon-Journal” is reporting that the Cleveland Cavaliers?and Chicago Bulls were talking trade just before the NBA trading dead line of 3:00 p.m. EST Thursday, on a possible multi-player deal that could send Ben Wallace among others to Cleveland. There is no word o n whether the two sides were able to work out a deal, or the other possible players involved. Wallace signed with Chicago as a free agent, after winning the NBA Finals with the Detroit Pistons.
