Riley Says Don’t Expect Any Trades
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The “Palm Beach Post” Thursday reported that Miami Heat coach and Director of Basketball Operations, Pat Riley told the paper that he does not expect to make any further moves before the end of the NBA trading period which ends on Thursday. Recent speculation was that Riley would use the expiring contracts of guards Ricky Davis, and Jason Williams to help the heat rebuild. Riley told the paper that he valued the two players, and was looking forward to negotiating with them in the off-season. Right, Williams has been complaining almost since mid-December about his lack of playing time, and you could not invent who more personifies everything Riley dislikes in a NBA player than Ricky Davis. Riley told the paper that he was being offered garbage, that the team did not need or want. He also dismissed talks of any interest the team may have in New York Knicks center Eddy Curry as exactly that, talk.
