Stoudemire Fires Up Suns Burn Boston 85-77

Momentum in sports is a funny thing, something can happen to put you in a “zone” where you can do?absolutely no wrong. And then just as magically it’s gone. Apparently the NBA All-Star break came at a bad time for the Boston Celtics, before the break they were riding high as on February 13, they won their fifth consecutive game, beating the New York Knicks 111-103.?Since they have come back from the hiatus they have not been able to buy a win, losing three straight.?Before the break they had played 50 games without losing one to Western Conference team, Friday they lost their third game to a Western Conference losing to the Phoenix Suns 85-77.
This game for all intent and purposes ended during the second quarter. Boston came out of the gate as if they were still asleep in their?hotel rooms, as the Suns jumped out early leading the Green?Team 21-6 with 3:47 left in the first quarter, Phoenix?would lead at the end of the quarter 24-13. Boston took off early in the second quarter, as they went on a 13-3 tear, to trail Phoenix 27-26 with 5:20 left in the first half. Phoenix however started to put some major difference between the two teams, ending the quarter on a 16-4 run, and basically ending the game as they led 43-30 as the two teams went to their locker rooms at the half. Boston never got closer than 7 points at any time during the second half.
Amare Stoudemire led the way for the Suns as he scored 28 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist, in the win. Steve Nash scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, “The Grant Hill Come Back Tour” back in full swing as the veteran recorded a double-double, 14 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist. Boris Diaw scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and Shaq had only 4 points, but he grabbed 14 boards, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist.
Kevin Garnett paced Boston as he scored 19 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block. Rajon Rondo scored 12 points for the Celtics, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, Ray Allen scored 11 points, 2 steals, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, in the loss. This is the first time all season that Boston has lost more than two consecutive games. Phoenix now has a record of 38-17, Boston is now 41-12.
