The “Los Angeles Times” reported Sunday that Los Angeles Clippers veteran point guard Sam Cassell may be about to ask the team to buy him out of the balance of his contract. If the Clippers were to grant Cassell his request he would be an unrestricted free agent and could the sign?with any NBA team. Cassell has made it perfectly clear that he wants to play with a contender, Los Angeles however could not get a deal done before the NBA trade deadline ended Thursday. Cassell is currently listed as day to day as he is suffering from a sore wrist.
