Barry Being Contacted By Five NBA Teams

The “Houston Chronicle” reported Monday that soon to be free agent veteran?shooting guard Brent Barry has a choice of five different NBA franchises vying for his services. Barry was traded by San Antonio last week to Seattle in the trade that sent Kurt Thomas to the Spurs. The Sonics waived Barry, he will clear waivers on Tuesday. The report names the Houston Rockets, the Spurs, the Dallas Mavericks, the Phoenix Suns, and the Boston Celtics as teams that want him on their rosters. Barry who will be out at least two more weeks with an ankle injury, would have to wait 30 days to sign with San Antonio because of Association rules.
