The NBA announced Monday that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played between Tuesday February 19, through Sunday February 24. San Antonio Spurs guard Manu Ginobili was given the honor in the NBA Western Conference. James helped Cleveland attain a 3-1 record during the week. He recorded triple-doubles in back to back games last Tuesday and Wednesday, led the team to a victory Friday night when the club had just 8 players in uniform including 2 players from the NBDL who were making their debut in the Association. Sunday night with brand new teammates surrounding him Cleveland beat Memphis 109-89. James averaged a triple-double for the four games? scoring 28.8 points, 12.3 boards, 10.5 assists, per contest.

“Manu?the Magnificent” helped the Spurs to a 3-0 week topped off by his 44 point game on February 21, against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Manu averaged 30.7 points, 6.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, per game he is now the leading scorer on the defending NBA Champions as he is averaging 20.7 points per game.
