Reports Say Clippers And Cassell Discussing Buy Out

The “Los Angeles Times” reported Monday that Los Angeles Clippers guard Sam Cassell has confirmed that a buyout of his contract by the club is being discussed with the team and Cassell’s agent. According to the report, the team had tried to deal him last week to the Memphis Grizzlies in a deal that would have sent Mike Miller to L.A. Other sources are saying that a buyout is imminent and could be announced Tuesday or Wednesday. Cassell, is said to be favoring joining Boston, Dallas, and Denver once he becomes a free agent.
