Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd, tried to do the right thing a couple of seasons ago, instead of exploring greener pastures via free agency, he showed his loyalty to Milwaukee and signed a long term deal with the team. Milwaukee is currently sitting in last place in the NBA Central Division 20.5 games behind division leading Detroit. Over the last few months Redd has seen other elite players extricate themselves from losing situations to winning ones, Shaq heading to Phoenix, J-Kidd forcing a deal to Dallas, the Big Ticket and Ray Allen going to Boston. But Redd has stayed put and has not approached his team owner Senator Herb Kohl about possibly trading him. Tuesday the “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel” reported that Redd told the paper that he had no desire to leave the Bucks. Redd told reporters “I’ve told Sen. Kohl this … that I’m committed to Milwaukee. I have a six year deal here and I’m committed to being here through the duration of my contract. Who knows in the next two or three years what’s going to happen? They may trade me next year or never. I can’t control that. But I know I’m committed to serving my time here. Now, it’s just a matter of getting it done.”

Paul Pierce and James Posey scored 17 points apiece Monday night as the Boston Celtics beat up on the Los Angeles Clippers 104-76.? The win allows them to go home from their road trip 2-3 after dropping the first three games after the All-Star break. Boston won the first game of their road trip Sunday night when they defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 112-102.

This was just the type of game you hope to end your road trip on, playing a below .500 team without two of their starters, as the Clippers were without center Chris Kaman still out with back spasms, and Sam Cassell who has a sprained right wrist. Boston took charge of this game early on, and you could see this would be a long night for the Clippers. Boston led 23-17 after the first quarter, they had increased their advantage to 45-36 as the two teams went to their respective locker rooms at the half. What ever little doubt was remaining was wiped out by the end of the third quarter, as the Celtics grabbed a 77-57 lead. The Clippers were never a factor in the final quarter.

The Detroit Pistons Monday had all five of the team’s starters score in double figures, including three with 20 points each as they defeated the Denver Nuggets 98-93. It was Detroit’s third straight victory, and they have gone 8-2 in their last 10 games. Allen Iverson scored 28 points for Denver, and Carmelo Anthony added 23 more, but a lack of clutch shooting at the line sent the Denver crowd home with a loss.

This game was tight the entire contest as it looked like it had overtime written all over it.? The lead changed hands 38 times, and the score was tied 44 times!? Detroit led 30-28 at the end of the first quarter and the two teams were deadlocked at 49-49 as the game reached the half. The lead went back and forth the entire third quarter as no team led the either by more than 4 points, and the two teams found themselves tied once again at the end of the third quarter 73-73. The game literally came down to the final seconds, Detroit was ahead 95-92 with 6 seconds left in the game and Pistons point guard committed a cardinal sin, fouling an opponent on a three point shot in the game’s closing seconds. Denver shooting guard J.R. Smith stepped?to the line with a chance to tie the game, as he had three shots, he hit the first one, missed the second, purposely missed the third. Kenyon Martin?tried to tip the ball in the cylinder, but he couldn’t do it, and there went Denver’s hopes.

Three Detroit Pistons starters scored 20 points apiece, Tayshaun Prince scored 20, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal. The San Antonio Spurs set a team record Monday night that they wish they came no where near setting. The defending NBA Champions set a franchise low for shooting percentage in the first quarter shooting just 6% (1-11) and scoring just 5 points. Somehow after slogging through that period they came back and defeated the Atlanta Hawks 89-74, for the Spurs sixth straight win.

The Spurs looked like they were in a daze the entire first period, as if they were all playing with lead shoes on. Fortunately for San Antonio the Hawks did not play a whole lot better, so amazingly they were down by only 11 points at the end of the quarter 16-5. They cut the gap to single digits by the time the two teams reached the half, Atlanta was ahead by just 7 points, 37-30. ?Atlanta by not knocking out the Spurs early, wound up getting bit in the end, as San Antonio?took a 57-48 advantage into the final 12 minutes of play.? Atlanta would get no closer than 7 points in the fourth quarter.

Tim Duncan recorded a double-double to lead San Antonio, as he?scored a game high?23 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks, 2 steals, 1 assist. Tony Parker looking stronger with each game since he returned from missing 9 with an ankle injury scored 15?points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, Manu Ginobili scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Ime Udoka came off the bench and?scored 10 points, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 rebound.

The Hawks were led by Joe Johnson who scored 17 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal.? Zaza Pachulia scored 14 points coming off the bench, 3 rebounds 1 assist, Al Horford who should give Kevin Durant a run for his money as NBA Rookie Of The Year, recorded a double-double 12 points, 13 boards, 2 steals, in the loss. Mike Bibby had another lack luster night scoring just 2 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, and 4 turnovers. So far this move has not looked like a match made in heaven. San Antonio is now 38-17, ?Atlanta?is 22-32.
