Redd Says There Is No Place Like Home
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd, tried to do the right thing a couple of seasons ago, instead of exploring greener pastures via free agency, he showed his loyalty to Milwaukee and signed a long term deal with the team. Milwaukee is currently sitting in last place in the NBA Central Division 20.5 games behind division leading Detroit. Over the last few months Redd has seen other elite players extricate themselves from losing situations to winning ones, Shaq heading to Phoenix, J-Kidd forcing a deal to Dallas, the Big Ticket and Ray Allen going to Boston. But Redd has stayed put and has not approached his team owner Senator Herb Kohl about possibly trading him. Tuesday the “Milwaukee Journal Sentinel” reported that Redd told the paper that he had no desire to leave the Bucks. Redd told reporters “I’ve told Sen. Kohl this … that I’m committed to Milwaukee. I have a six year deal here and I’m committed to being here through the duration of my contract. Who knows in the next two or three years what’s going to happen? They may trade me next year or never. I can’t control that. But I know I’m committed to serving my time here. Now, it’s just a matter of getting it done.”
