Yao Ming Out for Season With Stress Fracture In Left Foot

The Houston Rockets dropped an unexpected bombshell on the NBA Tuesday as they announced that they have lost veteran All-Star center Yao Ming for the season after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot. A MRI revealed the fracture, and according to team physician Dr.?Tom Clanton, there was no specific injury that triggered the fracture, it was just due to wear and tear.?Clanton told Yao that he?can not play through this kind of injury and he would recommend surgery.?Rockets General Manager Daryl Morley made the announcement Tuesday morning that Yao would be lost for the season. Team owner Les Alexander told KRIV-TV in Houston that he feels terrible, the worst he has ever felt. The blow could be a fatal one for the Rockets chances of being a realistic contender to make it to the NBA Finals, they were riding an?11 game winning streak. Houston will have it’s first taste of life without?Yao Wednesday night when they play the Washington Wizards.?
