Sixers Stand Up To Magic Second Half Surge Win 101-89

Andre Miller and Willie Green each scored 26 points, and Andre Iguodala added 24 of his own as the Philadelphia 76ers shocked the Orlando Magic Wednesday night 101-89. Philadelphia’s starting backcourt of Miller and Green?outscored Orlando’s starting backcourt of Jameer Nelson and Maurice Evans 52-2. It was the Sixers seventh straight win at home, the last game they lost?at home was to?Orlando on February 1.

Basically Philadelphia built a huge lead in the first half, and then pretty much coasted during the second half. The 76ers took a 33-25 advantage at the end of the first quarter, and then started to pull away during the second quarter as Philadelphia led ?61-42 as the game reached the half. Although Orlando did not give up (they actually won the next two quarters) they had built themselves too big a hole to climb out of. The Magic never got any closer in the third quarter than 14 points, as the Sixers were up 83-68 at the end of the period. They would?never get any closer than 11 points i n the final period.

Miller scored 26 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, in the?victory. Willie Green also scored 26 points for Philadelphia, he had 6 rebounds, 5 assists, steals, 2 blocks. Andre Iguodala scored 24 points, he had 7 assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, center Samuel Dalembert had just 9 points but led the team with 12 boards.

Philadelphia’s backcourt came through for the Sixers, and the Magic’s big men led the way for them. ?Hedo Turkoglu scored 20 points, ?7 rebounds, 6 assists, in the loss.? Rashard Lewis scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal,?Dwight Howard had a double-double, 14 points, a game high 16 boards, 1 block, 1 steal. Keith Bogans came off the bench and scored 13 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, J.J. Redick also came off the bench, he scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Philadelphia is now 26-32 while the Magic are 37-23.
