New Jersey Nets new point guard Devin Harris delighted the crowd at the Izod Center Thursday night as he came off the bench and led the team in scoring getting 21 points, in just 21 minutes of play as the Nets beat up on the Milwaukee Bucks 120-106. Harris led six New Jersey players, as amazingly both teams had the same shooting percentage for the game from the floor at 50.6%. New Jersey hit 44-87 shots, Milwaukee completed 41-81, the disparity however was outside the arc. Milwaukee shot only 33.3% (4-12) while the Nets completed 11-23 for 47.8% for the game.

New Jersey basically controlled this game almost from the start, they jumped out to a 32-23 lead at the end of the first quarter. They put quite a bit of distance between the Bucks and themselves in the second quarter as the Nets were ahead 68-55 when the two teams went to their respective locker rooms at the half. New Jersey led by double digits almost the entire third quarter, but Michael Redd got the Bucks back to within 8 points as put in a layup with 53 seconds left in the quarter, and Mo Williams hit a 10 foot “J” with 2 seconds left to cut the Nets lead to 6 points, 91-85 at the end of the third. Harris set the tone at the beginning of the quarter as he slammed one home to put New Jersey up 93-85, and you could see the Bucks just start to visibly crumble. They never regrouped.

Harris in his first night playing for the Nets scored 21 points, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 1 rebound in the victory. Richard Jefferson scored 19 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, Vince Carter also scored 19 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Josh Boone scored 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block, Bostjan Nachbar scored 13 points, 3 rebounds, as he came off the bench. Marcus Williams scored 11 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals.

Michael Redd led all scorers with 33 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block. Mo Williams scored 24 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, Andrew Bogut recorded a double-double as he scored 22 points, 15 boards, 4 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal. Desmond Mason scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, in the loss. New Jersey improves to 26-32, the Bucks are now 22-36.
