The “Indianapolis Star” reported Sunday that former Pistons guard Ronald “Flip” Murray has signed withe the Indiana Pacers for the balance of the season. Murray was released by the Detroit Pistons last month, he was also being courted by the Los Angeles Clippers. Murray will back-up point guard Travis Diener in his new role withe the Pacers. The veteran guard said that he was about ready to finalize things with the Clippers, when the call came in from Indiana, causing him to alter his decision. Murray had signed with a free agent with Detroit in the Summer of 2006. The Pacers are trying to get into the playoff chase, currently they have a record of 23-36, leaving them 3.5 games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the NBA Eastern Conference.
