Horford & Scola Named NBA Rookies Of The Month For February

The NBA announced Monday that Atlanta Hawks rookie center/forward Al Horford was named the NBA Rookie Of The Month from the Eastern Conference, the Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola was awarded the honor in the Western Conference. Horford leads all NBA rookies in rebounds averaging 10.6 per game, he also leads in acquiring double-doubles as he has recorded 16. Horford set career highs in rebounds with 20 back on February 6, when the Hawks faced the Lakers, and also set a career high in points scored as he got 20 points against New York o February 29. The rookie also recorded seven double-doubles during the month, including in each of his last three games of the month.

Scola who helped the Rockets go 13-0 during the month of February, led all rookies in shooting percentage at 62.9% for the month. He is ranked fifteenth in the Association for the season at 53 percent. Scola stole the ball five times against the Memphis Grizzlies on February 29, the most steals by a Houston player during this season.
