Kobe & LBJ Named NBA Players Of The Month For February

The NBA announced Monday that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James was named the NBA Player Of The Month from the Eastern Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was awarded the honor in the Western Conference. LBJ led the league in scoring during the month of February as he averaged 30.2 points, he also averaged 8.9 rebounds, and 8.5 assists during the month. He became the youngest player in the history of the Association to score 1o thousand points, a mark he set on February 27. He was also the first NBA player to attain triple-doubles in back to back games on consecutive days twice in one season since Magic Johnson accomplished the feat in 1988. James did it first on November 24-25, and then on February 19-20. James won the award for the second straight month.
Kobe helped the Lakers to a 13-2 record during the month of February. He averaged 27.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.07 steals per game during the stretch. Bryant shot 50.7% for the month, as he scored 30 points in a game eight times, and at least 40 points twice.
