Celtics Await Arrival Of Cassell

Celtics.com reported Tuesday that free agent veteran point guard Sam Cassell was expected to show up at the Waltham, Massachusetts practice facility of the Boston Celtics on Tuesday to take his physical. Pending the results, the site is saying he should sign a contract with the team Tuesday night. Cassell cleared waivers Monday at 6:00 p.m. after the L.A. Clippers bought out the remainder of his contract. The report says that Boston coach Doc Rivers said he is not planning on using Cassell Wednesday night when the Celtics face the Detroit Pistons, however he said that veteran P.J. Brown could possibly be activated for that game.
