NBA Reinstates Chris Andersen

The NBA announced Tuesday that they have reinstated for New Orleans Hornets player Chris Andersen after being expelled from the Association back on January 27, 2006. Andersen had tested positive for a prohibitive substance and was automatically suspended from the NBA for two years. Andersen applied for reinstatement last month, and the Association along with the NBA Players Association approved the reinstatement. Andersen is property of the Hornets for the next 30 days, if they do not sign him in that time period he would become an unrestricted free agent. However?the Hornets apparently do want Andersen back, and are preparing to re-sign him. Andersen was popular with teammates and fans in New Orleans.

    Chris Andersen’s will and determination to work hard at any thing he does is what makes him an exceptional player. It is seen off the court with fans, and on (the court) in his discipline with training. He is a remarkable individual, and I, personally, can’t wait to see the Birdman rise back to the top…and stay there.
