Hornets Bring Back Andersen
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that the New Orleans Hornets have re-signed veteran big man Chris Andersen for the remainder of the season. As we reported to you on Tuesday, Andersen was reinstated Tuesday after being expelled from the Association back on January 27, 2006. Andersen had tested positive for a prohibitive substance and was automatically suspended from the NBA for two years. Andersen applied for reinstatement last month, and the Association along with the NBA Players Association approved the reinstatement. Andersen spoke to reporters Wednesday after the Hornets shoot around. The veteran said “It has been a long journey and I have learned patience over the last two years. I’m not here to step on anybody’s toes. I’m here to make players better. I know I’m not going to come in and play a lot of minutes. I wasn’t expecting that. I love B-Scott(Hornets head coach Byron Scott.) It’s good to be playing for him again. I’m just really glad to be here.”
