Pacers’ Harrison Suspended

???????????????????????????????????Indiana Pacers center David Harrison?

In what seems to be a recurring theme in Indianapolis, the Indiana Pacers have suspended reserve center David Harrison for one game for “conduct detrimental to the team”; the team gave no specific reason for the suspension, but the announcement – not coincidentally – came a day after Harrison was involved in an altercation late in a game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Harrison was called for a technical foul as he yelled at an official after being hit in the face by the Spurs’ Matt Bonner; Pacers coach Jim O’Brien pulled Harrison from the game and was later escorted to the locker room.? The Pacers also fined Harrison and announced that he would sit out Satrurday’s game against Cleveland.? Harrison was suspended for 5 games in January for violating the league’s anti-drug program.

It is unfortunate that Harrison was suspended and fined; however, anyone who follows the Pacers – including myself – knows that Harrison has a problem with his temper on occasion.? Yet if you put that aside, at least in my opinion, Harrison is a marginal talent who, if the Pacers are smart, should be released after the season is over.??The Pacers, as it were, are more than likely headed to the NBA lottery and should be able to get a center with their 1st round pick.? In a nutshell, Harrison was a bad pick; with the lack of big men – or so it seems – in the league, Harrison should find a job in the NBA next season.??
