The “Indianapolis Star” reported Saturday that Indiana Pacers co-owner Herb Simon is fed up with the antics that have been going on with his franchise, and told the paper that whole sale changes will take place during the off-season. According to Simon who owns the team jointly with his brother Mel, nobody that works for the team is secure in their position. In response to the question what could be effected Simon replied “Everything but the owner right now. We’re talking about restructuring, rethinking, all the things you do when your team is in crisis. We’re going to be having a series of meetings, and we’re going to make changes, yes.”

The team has been involved in a series of events that have put the players and the franchise, in a bad light. Beginning with the infamous brawl on the court against the Pistons, the team has had a series of players getting into hot water. In the last few months Marquis Daniels, Jamal Tinsley, and Shawne Williams have all been involved in off the court controversies. Thursday night center David Harrison went ballistic in the locker room after a game against San Antonio and was subsequently suspended for a game. Simon told the paper that the Harrison incident bothered him also. The Pacers owner sighed “Another upsetting situation. The last three years have been one incident after another. It’s not that all these players are bad people, they just make bad judgments and they’re in the wrong place. We don’t have a community that can tolerate this kind of behavior. Ever since (the incident in Detroit) we seem to have one problem after another. But we’ve had 21 great years where we were a shining example in the community. Now it is my responsibility and believe me, I’m going to get on it to restore that kind of image of our team so we can all be proud of them and concentrate on winning and losing and not so much on outside incidents.”
