Pistons Finally Put Away Pesky Bulls, 116-109 & Clinch Playoff Spot

Chauncey Billups scored a game high 34 points, the Detroit Pistons shot 50.6% (41-81) from the floor for the game, and they beat the Chicago Bulls Sunday, but not without a struggle 116-109. Chicago late in the game would look like they were on the verge of being out of it, and then would edge […]

Counter Point: The Cavaliers Are No Where Without LBJ

To: Kyle Stack
From: Jeff Sack
RE: NBA MVP

Balanced Scoring, Hot Shooting Help 76ers Gun Down Bucks 119-97

Sunday afternoon’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, basically an undercard to other games on the card (San Antonio-Phoenix the main event), proved to be a contest where Milwasukee played like their namesake - like deer looking into the headlights.  Speaking of headlights, Philadelphia’s shooting was “lights-out” as they shot a blistering […]

Loyal readers of SDC have become accustomed the past week to finding the NBA nickname series running on this fine Web site. Could Clippers Be Playing With Skeleton Crew Next Season

The 2007-2008 NBA season has not been a particularly joyous one, as far as the Los Angeles Clippers are concerned. The Clips will once again delve in to the NBA Lottery as they currently are at 20-41, and their coach Mike Dunleavy and General Manager Elgin Baylor have both had their security threatened by owner Donald Sterling. […]

Nowitzki Breaks Franchise Scoring Record, Leads Mavericks To 111-91 Win Over Nets

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki accomplished two things in Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Nets: he broke the franchise scoring record (16,644), eclipsing the record formerly held by former Maverick guard Rolando Blackman and he also led the Mavericks to an easy 111-91 win over the Nets at American Airlines Center.
The game was much […]
