Sunday afternoon’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks, basically an undercard to other games on the card (San Antonio-Phoenix the main event), proved to be a contest where Milwasukee played like their namesake – like deer looking into the headlights.? Speaking of headlights, Philadelphia’s shooting was “lights-out” as they shot a blistering 60.3% from the floor; granted, the Bucks shot a respectable 46.5%, but really – no team wins when their opponent shoots 60%.? 7 Sixers scored in double-digits as they easily disposed of the Bucks 119-97 at Bradley Center.
The Sixers dominated the first half, shooting very well as they went into halftime leading 65-43; fast forwarding to the fourth quarter, after Andre Iguodala and Reggie Evans made consecutive baskets, Iguodala made 2 free throws to cap a 14-4 run and give the Sixers a 109-86 lead with 3:33 remaining in the game, sealing the win.? Philadelphia had 7 players in double-digits, led by Thaddeus Young with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal, while Samuel Dalembert had a solid game, scoring 18?with 10 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.? Andre Miller added 16?with 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals, while Iguodala chipped in with 15 with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
Milwaukee was led by Charlie Villanueva with 25 points, 8 rebounds and a blocked shot, while Michael Redd scored 19 with 5 rebounds and 3 assists; Charlie Bell, from off the bench, added 15 with 5 assists and a steal.? Philadelphia (30-33) will now travel to Boston to face the Celtics on Monday, while Milwaukee (23-40) makes the short trip to Washington D.C. to take on the Wizards Tuesday night.
