Howard Sick Of Taking Beating, Without Being Able To Respond
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
We don’t have too much sympathy for “Goliaths” in our culture. Big strong men in our opinion, should be able to stand up for themselves without outside help. It’s the “Davids” the runts, the little guys, that make us feel sympathetic. We all love to see that guy on the field, who looks like he has no reason being anywhere near it, dominate. We love the underdogs, the little guys.
Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard realizes this mindset is prevalent in our society. He knows being the behemoth that he is, he will not come across as a sympathetic figure. However, Howard sees a? disparity on the court during games, and to be frank about it, he is fed up with it. “Florida Today” reported Monday that Howard says he is taking a beating on the court during games, and he can’t reciprocate. Howard says he is extremely frustrated with the situation. He told reporters “I know that I’m going to get fouled out there, but it’s frustrating when the referees see it and don’t do anything about it. The flopping is just getting out of control. It’s really frustrating when I make a move, barely touch somebody and a foul is called. With all the flopping, I’m having to come out of the game when my team needs me on the floor.”
