The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday that the Atlanta Hawks have signed guard/forward Jeremy Richardson for the balance of the season. Richardson finished his second 10 day contract with the Hawks last Saturday, a NBA franchise can only sign a player to two 10 day contracts, after that it’s sign him or release him. The second year player had stints earlier this season with Memphis and San Antonio. Last season Richardson played 5 games for the Hawks, and also spent some time with Portland. Richardson is very excited about remaining with the team for the rest of the season. He told reporters he would love to play for them during the Summer League period, and be brought into the fold on a long term basis. He said to reporters Monday “That’s what I’m hoping for. It’s good to know that you’ll have the security for the rest of this season, and this is definitely something good to have on my resume. I can focus now on doing whatever I can, in however many minutes I see, to help this team get to the playoffs.”
