Life is full of unexpected changes, one day you could be sitting on the bench for a team that has one of the worst records? in all of the NBA (the Minnesota? Timberwolves) a few days later you?could be in the starting lineup for the Detroit Pistons. That is basically the scenario that NBA veteran Theo?Ratliff has gone through in the last couple of weeks, and he could not be happier. Ratliff was traded to the T-Wolves?last Summer in the deal that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston. Most of this season Ratliff was? inactive with injuries, but just before the NBA? trading deadline he was reactivated. Knowing that Minnesota was rebuilding and thinking this would be his last season in the Association, he? asked for his release. Ratliff signed a contract for the balance of the season with the Pistons, and he is having so much fun he may push retirement off for another year. Ratliff told the the “Detroit News” that he is now entertaining thoughts of playing next season in the Motor City. Ratliff told reporters “It’s going to come down to family and how I feel. I have six kids, and they are growing up fast. We’ll talk after the season and see how everything works out.” Ratliff turns 35 next month.
