Thorn Says Nets Have No Current Interest In Gerald Green
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The “Star-Ledger” reported Tuesday that New Jersey Nets Team President Rod Thorn has said the club has no interest at the present time in free agent guard/forward Gerald Green. Green who was drafted right out of high school in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the deal that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston. Green was let go by the T-Wolves after 29 games, and was signed by the Houston Rockets. Houston put the third year player on waivers last week, making him a free agent. Thorn said that the team had no interest in Green for this season, but could foresee talking to him in the off-season, about him playing for the Nets Summer League team. Green has played 143 games in the Association, he has averaged 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds per game for his career.
