Deron Williams scored a game high 32 points, Carlos Boozer recorded a double-double, and the Utah Jazz shot 50.7% (37-73) from the floor for the game, and 50% (7-14) from outside the arc as the defeated the Boston Celtics in Boston Friday night 110-92. The loss ended the Celtics winning streak at ten games and kept them from clinching the NBA Atlantic Division Title. It was Utah’s second straight win and they are 8-2 in their last 10 games.

Utah just came out on fire in the first quarter as they led by 10 points 33-23 at the end of the first period. They extended the lead during the second quarter  and were up 62-49 as the game reached the half. Boston slowly but surely started chipping away at the Jazz lead in the third quarter, and by the end of the period they were right back in the contest down just 79-74. “Big Baby” Celtics rookie center Glen Davis hit the first shot in the fourth and the 13 point lead was down to just 3 at 79-76. But Utah got the momentum back quickly, and though the Celtics stayed within hailing distance until 5:15 was left in the game down 83-79, but the Jazz finished the quarter with a 27-13 run.

Williams scored 32 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block in the Utah victory. Carlos Boozer scored 17 points, grabbed 12 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, Mehmet Okur scored 12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists. Ronnie Brewer scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, Kyle Korver also scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Celtics lost guard Ray Allen in the first quarter, as he slipped and fell jamming his left heel and never returned to the game. Boston was led by Kevin Garnett who scored 15 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 steal in the loss. Kendrick Perkins scored 13 points, 7 boards, 2 blocks, 1 assist, Rajon Rondo scored 12 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. James Posey came off the bench and scored 11 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Utah now improves to 44-23, Boston is 51-13.
