There is a phrase that is endemic to Cleveland, I picked it up from associates while I live there for a decade and a half. The phrase is pieces-parts, but it is pronounced as one word “piecesparts.”? Such as when the Cleveland Cavaliers have all their ?”piecesparts” together they are a pretty impressive team. For the first time in a while, the Cavaliers had most of their regulars back (except for guard Daniel Gibson) and they all seemed to mesh pretty well together as they held off the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday night 98-91. LeBron James recorded a double-double scoring a game high 33 points, grabbing 10 rebounds.

Cleveland broke out in the first quarter to a 27-19 lead at the end of the period. Charlotte, slowly and methodically worked their way back during the opening half of the second period, as they went on a 17-8 run grabbing the lead at 36-35 when Emeka Okafor hit an outside shot with 5:18 left in the quarter. But it was if the Bobcats hit an invisible wall, as they stood and watched as the Cavaliers ran roughshod over them for the remainder of the quarter, as Cleveland took a 47-40 lead with them into the locker room at the half. Charlotte would score the first two buckets of the third quarter, making it a 3 point game at 47-44 with 10:55 remaining. But that’s when the Cavaliers took over getting the lead quickly up to double digits, and the two teams went into the final quarter in a 75-63 contest. The Bobcats had one more run left in them as they cut the lead to one point when Jason Richardson hit a 26 foot trey to make it 92-91 with 1:07 left in the game. But that invisible wall came back on the court, as that would be the last point that Charlotte would score in the game.

LBJ scored 33 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 blocks, 1 steal, in the Cleveland victory. Zydrunas Ilgauskas returning from an extended stay on the IR list with a sore back came back with a flourish, as he scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist, Sasha Pavlovic scored 11 points, Devin Brown came off the bench and scored 10 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds. Ben Wallace was at his glass cleaning best as he scored only 4 points, but grabbed a game high 15 boards, 3 steals, 1 block.

Jason Richardson scored 33 points for the Bobcats, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Raymond Felton scored 14 points, 9 assists, 2 rebounds, Emeka Okafor recorded a double-double 10 points, 12 boards, 1 steal, 1 block. Gerald Wallace came off the bench and scored 10 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks. Cleveland is now 38-29, while Charlotte is 24-42.
