Short Handed Celtics Clinch Atlantic With Trampling Of Bucks 99-77

Kevin Garnett scored a game high 19 points, the Boston Celtics shot 51.9% (41-79) from the field for the game and even without guard Ray Allen who was out with an injured left heel the Green Team just flat out embarrassed the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center Saturday night 99-77. The victory clinches the NBA Atlantic division for Boston, they are the first team this season to clinch a Division title.
This game really was pretty much a one sided affair all night, as the Bucks did not reach a total for points scored in a quarter until the game was long since decided in the fourth. Milwaukee scored 19 points, in quarter number one, 16 points, quarter number two, and 17 points, in quarter number three. Of course when you shoot 34.1% (28-82) from the floor for the game, that’s about the numbers you are going to get. Boston led 25-19 at the end of the first quarter, by the time the game reached the half the Celts were up 53-35. Things did not get any brighter for the Bucks in the third period as they fell even further behind as the Green Team were ahead 75-52 at the end of three periods. The fourth quarter was not even a factor in the game.
KG scored 19 points, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 block, in just 27 minutes of playing time. Eddie House came up huge off the bench scoring 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, Paul Pierce scored 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists. Rajon Rondo also scored 13, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, veteran Sam Cassell had his best game in his brief Boston career with 10 points, 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds.
Charlie Bell came off the bench for the Bucks and scored a team high 16 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block. Michael Redd scored 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, Charlie Villanueva scored 10 points, 8 boards, 1 assist. Boston is now 52-13, Milwaukee is 23-43.
