It took Utah a couple of tries, but they denied a pesky Toronto team Monday night with a 96-79 win in Salt Lake City. Despite holding a 14-point lead halfway through the second quarter, and nine-point lead at halftime, Utah squandered the lead in the third quarter.

Toronto began the third quarter on a 13-5 run capped by an Andrea Bargnani jumper with 6:50 left that brought the Raptors to within 52-51.

Toronto made five consecutive shots later in the quarter as the teams were knotted at 65 going into the fourth quarter. Kyle Korver opened the final stanza with a two and a three-pointer as the Jazz jumped out to a 12-2 run to begin the period. Toronto couldn?t find the bottom of the net in the fourth quarter as Utah went on a 16-2 run after they ended their initial scoring spree.

Utah had only four players in double-figure scoring, including 21 from Deron Williams. Carlos Boozer scored 13 and grabbed ten rebounds while Korver dropped in 17 for Utah. Ronnie Price added 13 points.

Jose Calderon led the Raptors with 16 points as Rasho Nesterovic and Anthony Parker were the only other Raptors to hit scoring double-digits, with 13 and 11, respectively.
