Texas A&M University upset BYU Thursday in their first round matchup in the NCAA West Regionals 67-62. BYU came back from being down 11 points in the first half of the game to tie the contest at the half at 29-29. But the Aggies grabbed back the momentum in the second half sending the Cougars home after the first round for another year. Swing-man Josh Carter was the key guy for the Aggies as he was the game’s high scorer with 26 points, 5 rebounds. Jonathan Tavernari led the way for the Cougars as he scored 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. The Aggies will meet the winner of the UCLA Mississippi State game in the second round.
