Playing methodically as it typically does during the first round of the NCAA sectionals, Purdue built an early 19-point lead and as a result, cruised to a 90-79 victory over Baylor Thursday at Verizon Center.? Purdue’s leading scorer was Keaton Grant with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, while E-Twaun Moore scored 16 with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.? Baylor was led by Curtis Jerrells with 27 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals, while LaceDarius Dunn added 15 with 3 rebounds, an assist and 2 steals.? Purdue will next face #3 seed Xavier on Saturday in the second round of the West Regional.
