The Celtics won despite that the team shot an anemic 34.5% (30-87) from the floor for the game. The win for Boston marked their sweeping all three Texas teams at home as well as going 6-0 against them for the season.

Considering that any?of the three Texas teams, along with the Lakers and the Suns could easily end up in the NBA Finals this June, this bodes quite well for Boston. Boston has shown that they have the ability to really get past?most of their serious rivals in the Eastern Conference. Orlando and Cleveland?have won two?games each against the Celtics, but Cleveland had a totally different roster at that point. Orlando’s youth may work against them in the Post Season. Boston leads the season series against the Pistons, and the Wizards fragility, health wise?is always a question mark. So for the Green Team to play this well against the Texas teams will if nothing else help them psychologically if they meet in the Finals.

Dallas grabbed the lead at the end of the first quarter as they were ahead 29-24 at the end of the period. Boston took their first lead of the second quarter with 7:05 remaining as Eddie House hit a technical at the line putting the Celts up 34-33. They remained on top for most of the period until Josh Howard hit a bucket with 57 seconds left, to tie the game at 46-46.?Jason Kidd laid it up and in for two with 32 seconds left and the Mavericks had the lead at the half 48-46.? Dallas led for the entire third quarter as the two teams went into the final 12 minutes with the Mavs ahead 70-66.??The Mavericks were up by as?much as 7 points early in the fourth but Boston regrouped and took their first lead of the quarter at 81-80 when Garnett hit a 20 foot outside shot with 6:11 left in the game. The Celtics held the lead until Dirk Nowitzki hit a pair at the line to put Dallas ahead 88-87 with 1:54 remaining. With 31 seconds left in the game Ray Allen hit a 24 foot trey to put Boston on top to stay at 90-88.

Erick Dampier?scored 10 points, 4 blocks, 4 rebounds, Brandon Bass came off the bench and scored 10 points, 5 rebounds. Boston is now 55-13, Dallas is now 44-25.
