One would think that if your team shot 56% (as Minnesota did Friday), then your?team would likely win the game; that isn’t to say that Indiana shot poorly, because they didn’t (the Pacers shot 49%) - I’m just saying.? Indiana turned an early four-point deficit into a 35-27 lead following Troy Murphy’s 3-pointer late in the first quarter; Murphy would score 10 points and grab 6 rebounds in the period.? The Pacers used a 7-0 run halfway through the second quarter to make it 52-36 as they would take their largest lead of the half, 66-46, on a trey by Mike Dunleavy; Indiana would go into halftime leading 66-49.

With the Pacers holding a 93-73 lead with 2 minutes to go in the third quarter, Minnesota closed the period with 9 straight points, including consecutive 3-pointers?from Rashad McCants.? Trailing by 20 late in the third period, Minnesota cut their deficit to 96-88 following 2 free throws by Craig Smith with 10 minutes left in the game; Indiana would respond with the next 7 points, including Granger’s trey, to open a 103-88 lead.? Indiana’s Dunleavy would seal the game as he scored a rare 4-point play with 2:23 remaining, giving the Pacers an insurmountable 120-103 lead.
