Rhodes Leads Bulldogs Over Ducks 76-69

Charles Rhodes scored a game high 34 points, and grabbed 9 rebounds, and 1 assist, as the Mississippi State Bulldogs took a bite out of the Oregon Ducks Friday night sending them home after a first round loss by a score of 76-69. The Bulldogs dominated the glass as fellow big man Jarvis Varnardo had 8 rebounds, and swing-man Jamont Gordon led all players with 11 boards. The Ducks led at the half 38-28 but Mississippi State came back with a vengeance in the second half outscoring Oregon by 17 points. Center Malik Hairston led Oregon with 22 points in the loss. The Bulldogs will take on the winner of the game between Memphis and Texas-Arlington in the second round game Sunday.
