Lopez Pushes Stanford Past Marquette In O/T 82-81

Stanford forward Brook Lopez scored 30 points, including the game winning bucket with 1.8 seconds in overtime to put the Cardinal into the “Sweet Sixteen” as they defeated Marquette in a heart stopping game 82-81. Stanford head coach Trent Johnson was not on the floor to celebrate with his team, as he was ejected during the game’s first half for unsportsmanlike conduct. The seven foot Lopez scored 8 of the Cardinal’s 11 points in the extra period. The Golden Eagles were led by guard Jerel McNeal who also scored 30 points. Stanford will take on the winner of the Texas Miami game next weekend.
