Muskateers Shoot 54%, Shoot Down Boilermakers 85-78

Xavier?s Drew Lavender, top, and Stanley Burrell celebrate Xavier?s 85-78 victory over Purdue in a second-round NCAA West Regional men?s basketball tournament game, played on Saturday.

#3 Xavier, in their game Saturday against #6 Purdue,?played a nearly flawless game on offense while playing decent defense, as well.? Four Muskateers scored in double-digits as they booted Purdue out of the tournament with a 85-78 victory in the second round of the NCAA West regionals at Verizon Center at Washington, D.C.? Xavier was led by C.J. Anderson and Drew Lavender with 18 points apiece; Anderson grabbed 7 rebounds, dished out an assist and had a steal while Lavender grabbed 3 rebounds and dished out 9 assists.? Josh Duncan added 16 with 5 rebounds for the Muskateers.? Purdue was led by Keaton Grant with 19 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot while E’Twaun Moore scored 15 with 5 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot.? Xavier advances to?take on?West Virginia on Thursday, March 27, in Phoenix.?
