MRI Results Show Nowitzki Will Miss At Least One Week

The Dallas Mavericks released a statemennt Monday afternoon that Dallas forward Dirk Nowitzki will be out for at least a week, and possibly longer, after getting back the results of a MRI Monday morning. Nowitzki fell to the ground Sunday in the third quarter of the Mavericks loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The All-Star was writhing in pain, and clutching his left leg. he was helped off the court by teammates, and never returned to the game. The MRI showed that Nowitzki suffered a “moderate left ankle sprain, and a mild left knee sprain.” He is? currently being treated with anti-inflammatories, and pain killers.
