The Memphis Grizzlies, as young and inexperienced they may be, can at times show their potential as a team; against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, they managed to hang with the Nuggets for the entire first half.? Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, Denver had the experience and firepower in their favor as they scored 69 second-points, earning the Nuggets a 120-106 win over the Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.

Memphis led?Denver at halftime 57-51, but the Nuggets outscored the Grizzlies 37-22 in the third period to up their advantage to 14; unfortunately for the Grizzlies, they could not recover.? Denver’s high scorer was J.R. Smith from off the bench with 27 points - including a whopping 7three-pointers - along with a rebound, an assist and a steal while Allen Iverson scored 26 - including three treys - with a rebound, 7 assists and 3 steals; Carmelo Anthony added 23 with 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals while Kenyon Martin added a double-double, scoring 14 with 10 rebounds, a steal and 2 blocks.? Marcus Camby, while scoring only 5 points, did grab 15 rebounds along with?4 assists, a steal and 7 blocks.

Memphis was led by Rudy Gay with 30 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 3 blocks while Hakim Warrick scored 29 with 7 rebounds and 3 steals; Mike Miller added 19 - including 4 treys - with 14 rebounds and a steal.? Denver (43-28) will now fly to Texas to take on the Dallas Mavericks Thursday while Memphis (18-52) travels to Sacramento to face the Kings on Wednesday night.
