Reports Say Nets Want To Keep Kiki

The “New York Post” reported Wednesday that the New Jersey Nets want to retain Kiki Vanderweghe special assistant to Team President Rod Thorn after his contract expires on July 1. Vanderweghe’s name has been brought up in speculation with the New York Knicks, if Team Owner James Dolan decides to either dismiss Isiah Thomas or reduce his duties. Earlier this week reports came out that current Indiana Pacers Team President Donnie Walsh will get the job in Gotham. Thorn told reporters that he is very pleased with the job that Vanderweghe has done in his time with the club, and would like to retain him. Kiki told reporters that it is policy not to discuss contracts with the media. He did say though that he enjoyed working for Thorn and Team Owner Bruce Ratner.
