Josh Howard scored a game high 32 points, leading four Dallas Mavericks starters in double figures, as the the Mavericks drubbed the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night 103-90.  Now granted not all of the Mavericks opponents during the period that All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki is out with knee and ankle injuries will be as easy to beat as the Clippers were. But the Mavericks seemed to adjust in game one without Nowitzki pretty well.

Dallas basically dominated from the beginning of the game, and never were really challenged in this outing. The Mavericks were up at the end of the first quarter 28-24. They extended their lead to 51-44 as the two teams went to their respective locker rooms as the game reached the half. Dallas put the game out of reach during the third quarter, as they lead 82-68 as the two teams went into the final period. The Clippers were never a serious threat in the fourth quarter.

Howard scored 32 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assists, in the Dallas victory. “Old Reliable” Jerry Stackhouse was in the starting lineup, and he responded by scoring 20 points, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 rebound, Erick Dampier came through big time with a double-double, 19 points, 17 boards, 1 block. Jason Kidd scored 10 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal.

Corey Maggette led the way for the Clippers, as he scored 21 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.? Tim Thomas scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, Cuttino Mobley scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal.  Nick Fazekas scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist, 1 block, veteran Brevin Knight scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Dallas is now 45-26, L.A. is 21-49.
