Tuesday Toronto Raptors General Manager Bryan Colanagelo questioned the intensity of his team, as they were in the midst of a two game losing streak and had gone 2-8 in their last 10 games. They had also slipped over the course of a little more than a week from the fifth seed in the NBA Eastern Conference Playoff chase to seventh. But Wednesday night the Raptors responded as they shut down the Detroit Pistons 89-82. Chris Bosh led the way for Toronto with 21 points.

This game was a defensive battle from the onset, Detroit led at the end of the first quarter by the razor thin margin of 20-19. Both team struggled to score in the second period, as the Pistons went into the half ahead 35-33. Toronto finally broke out of their offensive funk in the third quarter, as they took the lead heading into the final 12 minutes ahead 61-51. Detroit never got closer than 5 points down in the fourth.

Chris Bosh scored 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, in the Toronto victory. Rasho Nesterovic scored 15 points, 9 boards, 4 blocks, 2 assists, T.J. Ford back in the starting lineup scored 13 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds. Jose Calderon came off the bench and scored 13 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, Carlos Delfino also had a nice night coming off the pine, as he scored 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Chauncey Billups led all scorers with 24 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals. Rookie Rodney Stuckey came off the bench and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, Rasheed Wallace scored 15 points, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 assist. Tayshaun Prince scored 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block. Toronto is now 36-35, Detroit is 50-21.
