At the rate things are going, the #1 Memphis Tigers could very well bum-rush their way into the Final Four; their latest victim Friday night was #5 Michigan State.? While both teams shot well (Michigan State shot 49.2% while Memphis shot 52.5%), but the trips to the free-throw line made all the difference as the Tigers embarrassed the Spartans 92-74 in the NCAA South regional semifinal at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX.? Memphis’ high scorer was Derrick Rose with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists while Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 25 with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block; Robert Dozier scored 9 with 10 rebounds and 2 blocks.? Michigan State was led by Goran Suton with 23 points, 9 rebounds and a block while Chris Allen scored 20 with 4 rebounds.? Memphis advances to the NCAA South regional final as they face the Texas Longhorns on Sunday, March 30 at Reliant Stadium.
