Former NBA Player Rider Arrested
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Main

?Now I realize that retired NBA players have more time on their hands, but come on now, do you spend that time getting arrested?? At least one former NBA player thinks so, as according to the Associated Press, Isaiah Rider must appear in court next month to after being arrested for driving a stolen vehicle.? Rider was arrested early Saturday morning? for investigation of auto theft and was released from Los Angeles County jail that same afternoon; he had been held in lieu of $25,000.? Specifically, Rider is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
Officer Norma Eisenman said that Rider?was driving a car that failed to stop at an intersection in Los Angeles’ Skid Row district; after the license plates were checked, it was discovered that the car was reported as stolen from South Los Angeles,?Rider was subsequently arrested and the car was impounded.? Rider isn’t exactly a stranger to getting in legal scrapes; he has been arrested for a litany of charges after his NBA career ended, including drug use, assault and other charges.?
Recently as this past January,?Berkeley, CA police answering a report of a confrontation between a taxi driver and a passenger arrested Rider (wow, big surprise there!!) on Oakland, CA warrants alleging unlawful firearm possession and grand theft;?last year, he?plead guilty in Marin County to several charges, including felony cocaine possession, battery and evading a police officer.???He has also racked up large fines and suspensions during his career for offenses ranging from being tardy to practices to spitting at fans.? Rider, during his NBA career, has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets before ending his career in 2001.
