Spurs Win 7th Straight, Blasts Rockets 109-88

Michael Finley scored 22 points for San Antonio as the Spurs dropped the Rockets, 109-88, on Sunday afternoon.?

The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets rivalry has always been classic, regardless of what was at stake; at this stage of the season – especially in the Western Conference – playoff positioning means everything, and Sunday’s game was no different.? Michael Finley and Tony Parker combined for 19-of-28 shooting, enabling San Antonio to stay near the top of the Western Conference playoff standings, embarrassing Houston 109-88 at AT&T Center.

To illustrate how dominant San Antonio was in this game, Houston never led after the Spurs’ Parker?knotted the game at 9 in the first quarter; San Antonio also led Houston in the important stats: shooting (53% vs. 40.2%), rebounds (45-40) and assists (21-12).? Another amazing stat was the fact that both teams combined for only 11turnovers.? San Antonio was led by Finley and Parker with 22 points each – Finley also grabbed 6 rebounds while Parker grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 5 assists; Manu Ginobili added 14 with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks.

Houston was led by Luis Scola with 24 points and 7 rebounds while Tracy McGrady and Rafer Alston combined to shoot 9-of-38, scoring 13 each – with McGrady grabbing 5 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, with a steal and a block.? San Antonio (51-23) puts their 7-game winning streak on the line when they host the Golden State Warriors Tuesday while Houston (49-24) will attempt to recover as they travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings – also on Tuesday.? ?
