Amare Stoudemire and Steve Nash each had a double-double and the Phoenix Suns overcame a double digit first quarter deficit as ?they defeated the New Jersey Nets 110-104 Saturday night. The fans at the Izod Center saw the Nets have a great first and fourth quarter and two less than stellar quarters in between.

New Jersey jumped out to a 31-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. But the Suns rallied back in the second quarter as they held a razor thin 52-51 margin as the game reached the half.??The Suns came back out in the third quarter with momentum going their way, as Amare Stoudemire opened the quarter?driving the lane and putting the ball up and in. Phoenix never trailed?in the period and had a healthy 82-71 lead as the the two teams went in to the final 12 minutes.?New Jersey cut the lead to 93-90 with 4:58 left in the game as Vince?Carter drove the lane, was fouled made the basket and the shot at the line. New?Jersey never got any closer though, as they stayed within hailing distance the rest of the?quarter, but never really were a threat.

Stoudemire scored a game high 33 points, grabbed a game high 15 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block in the Phoenix victory. Leandro Barbosa in the starting lineup?as a substitution for an injured Grant Hill (groin pull) scored 21 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal,?Shaquille O’Neal had another nice game as he scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. Boris Diaw scored 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, Raja Bell scored 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal.? Steve?Nash scored 10 points, 11 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal.?

The Nets were led by Vince Carter who had 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals. Richard Jefferson scored 20 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, Devin Harris scored 13 points, 7 assists,?5 rebounds, 1 steal.? Nenad Krstic scored 12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist. Phoenix has a record of 49-24, the Nets are now 31-43.
