Al Horford Kevin Durant Named NBA Rookies Of The Month

The NBA announced Tuesday?that?Atlanta Hawks forward?Al Horford was?named the NBA Player Of The Month in the Eastern Conference. Seattle SuperSonics?forward Kevin Durant was given the honor in the Western Conference. As I have been writing for months, the NBA Rookie Of The Year Winner will be one of these two young men. Horford had the highest scoring average of any rookie the Eastern Conference, as he averaged 11.9 ppg, and 8.7?rpg. On March 19, against the Nets Horford scored 20 points, grabbed 15 boards and had 6 assists.
Durant is the leading scorer league wide? among rookies, as he averaged 21.8 ppg for the month, and 19.9 ppg for the season. Durant had a shooting percentage for the month from the stripe of 90.3% and 52.6% from the floor.?
